What does it mean to be on the Board?

MOMS Club is volunteer-based and very organized. Each chapter has several positions on the board that communicates with the Regional Coordinator, plans events, executes activities, and manages our funds. It sounds like a lot, but the board members help each other and the members to make MOMS Club a successful group!

President-

The duties are to preside at monthly meetings, line up speakers or activities for the meetings, write a president's letter for the monthly newsletter, schedule monthly board meetings, act as a liaison with other organizations and the community, act as a liaison between our chapter and MOMS club international, prepare and present our annual reports at year end with the help of other board members, and to generally be the one responsible to uphold the integrity of MOMS Club bylaws. Vice President-

Assists the President in fulfilling all duties of office with the exception of contacting International MOMS Club; Coordinates community service project(s).


Secretary- Takes minutes of the monthly and executive board meetings and keeps those minutes in an electronic archive available for review; Prepares and distributes agendas for monthly board and business meetings; Prepares and sends thank you cards for all speakers and special guests.


Membership VP- Sends information packets to new members; Maintains and updates roster and membership records; Notifies Board of new members and non-renewing members; Gives dues to Treasurer.


Treasurer- Manages the club budget; Maintains financial records of the group and keeps those records available; Deposits and disburses funds as directed/approved by the executive board and gives vouchers and receipts for any transaction; Reimbursements need to be approved by President; Prepares and presents financial report to executive board at board meetings; Prepares annual financial report for MOMS Club International; Contacts and follows up with members about renewing and paying dues.

*Playdate Coordinator- Coordinates our MOMS Club playgroups; Acts as primary contact for all playgroup leaders.

Newsletter Editor- Writes our monthly newsletter.

Activities Coordinator- Assists the Board in creating invitations, tracking RSVPs and promoting events.


Moms' Night Out/Events Coordinator- (Can be split into two positions) Helps to coordinate MNO and holiday parties; help promote events; help execute these events Helping Hands Coordinator- Organizes membership to provide support/assistance to members in need: new babies, emergencies, etc. (Source)
